School Sailing
Not that our club is ever inactive but this week (and for the last few months) our clubhouse has been extra busy.
A total of 90 Year 9 students from Mounts Bay School have passed through our doors this week for a "taster sail" on a range of boats from Dinghies to Cruisers - dependent on conditions.
In addition to this, a total of 15 students have now finished this year's "after school sailing club" course from Mounts Bay and Humphry Davy Schools.
You might have already seen some of these students following Tango around the race course on race nights!
All the students had a great time on the water and many are asking to come back for more!
These courses have been run under the banner of "Penzance Youth Sailing" where we are encouraging these students to have fun on the water and take part in our sport.
None of this would have been possible without the help of a small number of Training Group Members, to which a BIG thank you must go:
Katherine Sharp
Tim Harrison
Paul Kent
Eric Taylor
Dave Whitehurst
Andy Bedford
Margaret Keith
Steve Margison .... sorry if I missed your name!
Please pat these guys on the back when you next see them and feel free to encourage the students when you see them around our clubhouse.
For more information on the Youth Sailing programme see the Penzance Youth Sailing webpage [Youth Sailing...]
Many thanks for all the help
